On Friday 22 September, CEIPES, the Italian partner for SIEP 2.0 project has met with the local authorities in Termini Imerese, city that has hosted several steps of the project during the past months. The event has seen the participation of teachers and students from Stenio high school institute and Councillor Maria Concetta Buttà, who deals with urban policies concerning Human Services, Social Development, Education and Culture, and Equal opportunities.
The event has been an opportunity to share more about the project and the results that it has obtained during the past months, but, especially, to involve political authorities in the project, Specifically, the consortium of SIEP 2.0 is about to complete the European Book of Recommendations, a compact collection of suggestions for the European institutions from the participants of the project.
The last remaining section of the book will collect the recommendations form the local authorities of several cities that have participated to the project so far. In this case, Councillor Buttà has highlighted the importance of educating young people to empathy as the best way to prevent bullying and discrimination, and has praised SIEP 2.0 for the results it was able to obtain.
This session of SIEP Labs marks the final step for all involved partners in the completion of the project, since, in the following weeks, all partners will contact several local authorities and inform them about the results. After that, the project will move to its end, but its effect will last for more and more years to come, spreading its message of cooperation and opposition to bullying and discrimination.
