On the 19th of September 2023, the Italian partner for SIEP 2.0 project has met with one of the local Administrations, presenting the project project to the Youth Policies and Sport Councillor. The project is indeed moving towards its conclusive steps, involving now the local authorities in the process for two main reasons.

Firstly, authorities are being informed on the progress of the project: the objectives reached, the public involved, and the techniques that have been implemented during the project. During the meeting with the authorities, also some of the participants to the workshops (implemented in the past months) have been involved. By telling their personal experience in the project, they were able to present a bigger picture to the Administration, thus enriching the mosaic of experiences that SIEP 2.0 has collected so far.

Secondly, local authorities had the possibility to give her personal apport to the project. In fact, one section of the European Book of Recommendations – the final product of SIEP 2.0, summarising the point of view of all involved participants for the European Commission – will be entirely dedicated to the suggestions and opinions of local authorities. This way, the Book of Recommendations will include the point of view of youth workers who deal with the issue of bullying, harmonising it with the opinion of decision makers and administrations, thus creating realistic suggestions for European interventions against bullying and discrimination.

In the next months, the consortium will conclude all the foreseen meeting with local authorities, concluding the European Book of Recommendations. Stay tuned for the next news!
