On the 27th of September 2023, the Italian partner from SIEP 2.0 project consortium has concluded the third event to involve local authorities, with the City Council of Trabia. As the previous two local events, in Palermo and Termini Imerese, the conference has been an occasion to talk about the project and its activities with the competent authorities, as well as to hear their opinion on possible European initiatives to counter bullying.
The Administration has been extremely interested in hearing more about SIEP 2.0 and its results, deeming it a perfect opportunity to talk to younger generations about concrete ways to counter bullying and discrimination. The non-formal strategies adopted during the project have been praised for their flexibility and the capacity they have to catch the attention of children and teenagers who would otherwise not always be keen to open themselves and reflect on these issues.
With the cooperation of Councillor Militano, the Italian section for the European Book of Recommendations is finally complete, hosting ideas and suggestions from Sicilian authorities. This section is the final one that awaits to be completed, and the consortium is now about to finish in every involved country. Soon the Book will be ready to be submitted to the European authorities, in the attempt to implement new effective policies to counteract bullying and discrimination.
